so i stopped using relaxers last june and my hair is about 3in natural and the rest is in transition. my hair is neck length. my problem is that i have no idea what to do with my hair. could you give me tips? should i do the big chop?

Congrats on reaching 8 months! :) That is one of the most frustrating things about transitioning, those times when you don’t know what to do with your hair. Ever tried a rod set? It’s time consuming to set but lasts for a week and looks beautiful. Mini twists or plaits, fancy braided updos, bantu knots and bantu knot outs, twist outs, braid outs. You could find countless youtube videos on all these styles.

Do the big chop when you are ready and sure you wouldn’t regret it or if your hair is breaking off at a rapid pace. I really can’t tell you whether or not to big chop because it’s really a personal choice. You could try this, look at vids and pics of women who have big chopped at 8 months and ask yourself if you are comfortable with that length and go from there. Maybe you are maybe you need a few more months.

Hope this helps you!
